Rule XIV: (cc-c), avoid consonant doubling


 XIV.Abbreviation:(cc-c)
 
Description: Avoiding consonant duplication for verbs, whose verb primitive ends on a double, identical consonant.
 
Example verb: 20.stillen (weak verb)
Example verb: 21.zwemmen (strong verb)
 
Application: -the verb primitive ends on a double, identical consonant.
 

  Applies for (weak verbs):
OTT (Present): Singular I, II, III
OVT (Past): all forms
Imperatief: always
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):always
 
  Applies for (strong verbs):
OTT (Present): Singular I, II, III
OVT (Past): if conjugation with "o": Singular I, II, III
else: all forms
Imperatief: always
Voltooid Deelwoord (Past Participle):-
 
  Example:
OVT (Past):weak: "stillen" => "ik stilde", not "ik stillde"
OVT (Past):strong: "zwemmen" => "ik zwom / wij zwommen", not "wij zwomen"
OVT (Past):strong: "liggen" => "ik lag / wij lagen", not "wij laggen"
